At May Nine Five, pleasure is for everyone, and we are here to help you explore it in ways that feel safe and exhilarating. Let’s change the conversation around eroticism, one climax at a time.
The name May Nine Five honors the legacy of Dr. Joycelyn Elders, the first Black woman U.S. Surgeon General, who made headlines in May 1995 for her progressive stance on sexual health and education, particularly for marginalized communities. That same month, International Masturbation Day was established, inspired by Dr. Elders’ advocacy for self-pleasure as part of a healthy sexual education curriculum. May Nine Five commemorates these pivotal moments, reflecting our commitment to promoting body positivity, sexual autonomy, and empowerment. We continue Dr. Elders’ legacy by providing tools and education for individuals to explore their pleasure with confidence and joy.
